Liquid Crystals
Liquid crystals are fluids which have similar optical properties to crystals. The wonderful colors are created through an interaction with polarized light. The numerous forms are a result of the self-organisation of the molecules.
Rolic uses its LCMO technology to reproducibly steer and control the orientation of the liquid crystal molecules, which in turn allows for the colors and forms to be structured and thus results in unique optical effects. This technology finds its use for example in LC displays, 3D films, and security elements.
